Sizing calculator
How many porta potties do you need?
Plan 1 standard porta potty for every 50 guests at an event of 4 hours or less. Add 1 unit per 250 guests when the event runs past 4 hours, and 1 more per 250 guests when alcohol is served. A 150-guest, 5-hour wedding with a bar needs 5 units.
Construction sites follow OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51: 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers, and 1 toilet seat plus 1 urinal per 40 workers above that. Our weekly service plan assumes about 10 workers per unit on a 40-hour week. Read the full sizing guide with charts.

Porta potty rental questions from Richmond renters
How much does it cost to rent a porta potty in Richmond, KY?
A standard porta potty for a weekend event in Richmond usually runs $175 to $245, with delivery and pickup included. A jobsite unit with weekly cleaning usually runs $165 to $235 per 28-day cycle, plus a one-time delivery charge. These are estimates from October 2026. Your quote lists every line before you pay. See the full cost guide.
What time do I need to call for same-day delivery?
Call by late morning for the best chance at a same-day porta potty. Trucks leave on routes early, so a unit is added to a route that already passes near you. Afternoon calls are often set first thing the next morning. A rush charge may apply, and the quote shows it.
My party is on Saturday. When do you drop off and pick up?
Weekend event units arrive Thursday or Friday and are picked up Monday. You pay one event price for all of those days. Early delivery means the unit is set, stocked and checked before any guest arrives.
Do I need a permit for a porta potty in Richmond?
A porta potty on your own driveway, yard or jobsite needs no city permit in most cases. A unit on a city street, sidewalk or public park needs permission first. Call City of Richmond at 859-623-1000. State highways need a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet encroachment permit. Read the permit guide.
Do porta potties freeze in a Kentucky winter?
Holding tanks can freeze when Richmond nights drop below 32°F, which is common from December through February. Our crew adds a non-toxic antifreeze treatment on winter service visits. Hand wash stations freeze faster, so ask about hand sanitizer instead for winter jobsites.
Do I have to be home when you deliver?
You can be away at delivery when the spot is open and clearly described. Mark it with a cone, send a photo by text, or give a gate code. The driver calls ahead when someone needs to unlock a gate.
How far ahead should I book for an EKU home game or a wedding?
Book 2 to 3 weeks ahead for EKU home weekends and graduation weekends in May and December. Book 2 to 6 months ahead for May, June, September and October weddings, when flushing units and trailers run short. Jobsite units are usually available next day.
What happens if a unit gets tipped or damaged?
Normal use is covered. Damage from vandalism, fire, a vehicle or tipping is billed at repair cost. Ask for a lock when the unit sits in a public spot overnight. Units can also be staked on windy, open ground.
